Steve
Agins has helped a broad variety of corporate and
professional organizations achieve their communications goals, in
his roles as a senior corporate public relations executive and as
a successful agency entrepreneur.
At American Express, Steve
served as the company’s first public affairs manager for Travel
Related Services. He developed and managed the programs which integrated
for the first time, public relations for all four “TRS”
divisions-Card, Travel, Communications, and Traveler's Cheque. He
co-authored and managed the firm’s first business plan that
tied public affairs to corporate and divisional business goals.
He consolidated a fragmented promotional environment resulting in
consistency with corporate guidelines, managed the company’s
first cultural sponsorships, and implemented the first major television
and radio campaigns. Earlier at American Express,
Steve served as public relations manager for the Travel Division,
responsible for promoting both retail and wholesale aspects of the
division. At Goldman, Sachs & Co., as public
relations consultant, he established and carried out major strategic
communications programs.
At Damson Oil Corporation,
once the nation's largest marketer of publicly traded oil and gas
limited partnerships, he served as Director of Corporate Communications,
responsible for all public and investor relation’s activities.
At Manhattan Life he was Manager of Public, Investor,
and Internal relations, and at Arthur Young he
was a member of the national office-new business proposal team.
Since forming Agins Communications in 1986,
Steve has served clients in many fields. These include companies
that are dependant on the consumer’s discretionary dollar,
including tourism, leisure, entertainment, healthcare, authors and
attorneys, and not-for-profit entities, as well as the inventor
and manufacturer of a high technology security device.
His views are sought by his peers and
by the press. Steve has been quoted in the Wall
Street Journal and the New
York Times and his writing has been
published in more than 30 consumer media and professional journals. |
